lea Raskin, founder and director

"Hi! My name is Lea Raskin.

I love to sing and dance. Growing up in Montevideo, Uruguay, I was given the ability to develop this passion, allowing me to express myself in the performing arts. It was a highlight of my childhood.

Since moving to Crown Heights at the age of 11, it has been my vision and dream to bring this joyous outlet to our community. To create a happy space. A space filled with joyous energy, song, movement and expression.  A space where kids can be kids. Where they can discover a part of themselves in a Jewish, professional, and fun environment.

Thank G-d, this dream is now a reality.  Join us in this magical experience!"

Chaya Solika Garbose, Voice and Acting instructor

Hi! My name is Chaya Solika Garbose and I am delighted to share my passion for singing and acting at Tambourines Academy with the children of Crown Heights this year! For as long as I can remember, I’ve been performing and studying voice, acting and dance. Some of my feature film credits include: Stella in "Operation: Candlelight," Chani in "The Heart that Sings," and Young Emma in "A Light for Greytowers." My theater credits include: "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and "The Music Man" for the Jewish Women's Repertory Theater in Los Angeles; Reb Yosef in "The Hasty Chuppah" for Kol Neshama in Tzfat and Jerusalem; Auguste Phillipson in "Portraits in Faith" and Rivka in "Roots: The Journey Home" for Ohel Chana High School. Currently, I am starring as sleuth Dina Silverman in the new DVD series for girls "Young Detectives of Tzfat. I can’t wait to meet all the girls!"
